Stephen Fry on the iPhone. Turns out he is a) a great writer on technology and b) very well informed aabout technology. Two things that don’t always come together as they do in Dork Talk. I love this quote on the iPhone UI since it captures so well the way that the device inspires a bond or corporeal relationship between user and machine – something that surely lies at the heart of the Apple story.
The iPhone is a digital experience in the literal sense of the word. The user’s digits roam, stroke, tweak, tweeze, pinch, probe, slide, swipe and tap across the glass screen forging a relationship with the device that is like no other.
